1. How to compare “直呼法” and "倒读法"

 

Teaching materials: CAI, clock,  watch, puppet, bag

 

  Teaching procedures:

1.     Warming up:

1) Let’s  chant      

One two tie your shoes

Three four touch the floor

Five six stir and mix

Seven eight sit and wait

Nine ten count again

   2) Greetings

2. Presentation of the class

   1) play a guessing game “ Touch and guess”

   2) After the kids answer the question , present the aims of this class” so , today we are gong to learn something about time “ and learn the new word” timetable”

   3) T: Can you tell me how to ask the time; “what time is it” , and what is the another way of asking the time: what’s the time ?

   4) The teacher show some numbers about time on the screen and ask the kids: what’s the time? It’s … after they answer the questions , the teacher ask the kid stop and tell: Ok, look at the clock and tell me: what’s the time now? Ss: it’s … T: oh, it’s time for our new lesson, Please look at the screen, we call them : 直呼法 And today we will learn another way to express the time, we call them 倒读法 them explain what is 倒读法?

   5) present 倒读法

Draw a circle on the blackboard, and divided it for two parts. At first, teach “past”, and practice in the whole class, eg: 10.25 10.14  6.23  9.25 , then learn “to” and practice 10.40  5.37  9.46  8.56 , after that, learn “quarter and half past” , and practice in groups.

3.Practice:

1) Show some time on the screen and practice in the whole class.

2) Use the clock in pairs and practice the time that they have learnt in this class, at first, ask two Ss to be the model, then ask some pairs to act out the conversation.

  3) Play a game : “music monkey” and check the kids if they have known the knowledge of this class. The kids pass the monkey one by one and the teacher play the music, when the music stop, the student who catches the monkey should stand up and answer the teacher’s question: what’s the time?( The teacher should move the hands of the clock)

  4. Open your mind:

 1) Ask the kids to try their best:

                               Asking the time

One day a passenger(乘客) in the train asked the conductor(列车员) how long the train would stay at the next station, the conductor answered, It will stay from…” can you see:

What time will the train stop?

What time will the train start again?

 2Finish some exercises of the test sheet.
